Living Under a Thumb

Please raise your hand if you believe controlling another human being is a good thing. There is only one correct answer, but I will not give it to you. First let’s explore what control is, the personality type that employs it and effect it has on those who are trying to be controlled. So we all can be on the same page as far as the definition of the word control”, here is the dictionary definition. to direct the behavior of (a person or animal) to cause (a person or animal) to do what you want Unless you are at your place of business supervising employees, I know of no one who thinks being controlled is a good idea.

Now let’s talk about the personality type that uses this tactic, not in the workplace. Larger than life people tend to display signs of controlling characteristics. Bosses, celebrities, professional athletes and last but not least, politicians. Think about it, how many times have seen a political ad where the candidate came across as a bragger, pompous or narcissistic. Too many is my guess. This class of person has the belief that no one can tell them what to do, and they will impose their will on you, or for lack of a better term, “own you”.

Once this faux power is achieved, an iron fist approach is used to keep those in line that are to be dominated. In the political realm, these tactics include harsh fines and incarceration. The new Texas anti-abortion laws reflect this exact image of cruelty and hypocrisy by republicans that enact laws in that State.

The Hypocrisy of the Pro Life Argument

Pro Life supporters would have you believe abortion is wrong because all life is sacred. This justifies anti-abortion rallies, physical intimidation tactics at OB/GYN clinics and making laws criminalizing a woman’s choice. The hypocrisies are not limited to just one opposing point of view:

  1. To be pro life, you first must care about the lives that already exist. Instead of caring for those lives they’re pigeon holed/labeled, to fit a certain narrative, like “welfare queen” or “drain on society”. That type of thinking is not pro-life, it is just the opposite. There are millions of working Americans that need assistance to have some quality of life due to suppressed wages. Either abolish the thing that created the wealth gap, “Reaganomics”, or pay workers a living wage so they will not need government assistance to put food on the table. You cannot have it both ways.
  2. In a Democracy, the best way to show a pro-life way of living, is to allow those lives, those people, the right to the easiest way for them to live free. Do not restrict access to the ballot box. But republicans will not allow everyone access to the polls because voter suppression is the only way for them to have power. And to a person seeking control over others, power is what it’s all about. Make no mistake.
  3. Regarding the issue of so called 2nd Amendment Rights, anyone that supports the distribution of violent weapons of destruction has lost any right to claim to be on the Pro-Life side of the issue. Just ask the survivors of mass school shootings or other venues where multiple human beings lost their lives at the hands of people with semi-automatic rifles with excessive round carrying capabilities. Shut up!
  4. This example is waving red flags at the hypocrisy made in this section. If all life is sacred, then why are reproductive restrictions placed only on women? High school freshman year Biology teaches Sex Education, that it takes two genders to create life, male and female, so why are women being targeted in the pro-life crowd? The answer is control. The Evangelical cult is determined to create a society where women are the subservient gender, made to serve the male gender. Prior to women earning the right to vote, they were considered chattel, property of the man of the house. Republicans want this to be the way of life in America. If equality were factored into this equation, there would be as many Evangelicals at Urology doctor offices protesting where men get vasectomies preventing life from occurring. This is how you can tell it’s really a control issue, and women are the target. It is discriminatory on its face.

These are but a few examples how the pro-life argument is full of feces.

Texas: The leader is suppressing women’s reproductive rights

The State of Texas has been behind discriminating against women’s reproductive rights under the Constitution my entire life. Roe v Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case that upheld a woman’s right to choose, was initiated in Texas. Roe was decided in 1973, and now 48 years later, Texas sought revenge in the same court that declared their anti-abortion laws were unconstitutional. This time, the cards were stacked n their favor. Due to the power grab by Mitch McConnell refusing to give Merrick Garland due process under the advise and consent clause when he was nominated for the Supreme Court.

Remember, control and power re the only things this personality type is interested in. They do not care who their interest harm, as long as power and control for them is the outcome. Women are the targets of the power grab on this issue. Many times Texas tried to enact laws in conflict with the Supreme court ling in Roe, and failed. Now with the current make up of the top court in the land due to Mitch McConnell’s hypocrisy and dereliction of constitutional duty, Roe is in serious jeopardy. The only class of people in the cross-hairs are women. Again, this is the text book definition of discrimination.

By now it should be obvious to anyone willing to look at history, the facts and intentions of hypocrites claiming to be pro-life. Possessing jealousy of the freedoms others choose to live by is sad. The prime motivation for laws like these have nothing to do with adopting a pro-life stance. It has everything to do with people thinking they have the right to tell you how to live. Not to be non secular, I remember a guy named Jesus who preached about the perils of judging others. Maybe they should read the book they profess to live their lives by.

Here is a final thought, something to ponder, why do people feel they can control a woman’s choice between her and her physician, and yet claim my body my right when it relates to a serious public health matter like the covid-19 vaccine. I hope the hypocrisy is screaming at you.

If not, you’re not pro-life, you’re just pro-pregnancy.
